An amazing island that strikes and amplifies the senses, the sea view from my room of the Miramare Sea Resort (structure in which I stayed for 5 days) has few equals and gives since the awakening a feeling of immediate well-being, close your eyes and imagine the morning awakening in a very functional, bright and clean hotel room, open the curtains and you are facing the sea as far as the eye can see in all its splendor, this for me is the philosophy of true luxury on vacation.
Panorama and amazing view as the one admired by the San Montano Resort & Spa , a crazy 5-star hotel in the north of Ischia, precisely in Lacco Ameno on the hills of Monte Vicco from which it is possible to admire the bay of San Montano, the Vesuvius, Procida and the Pontine islands, a breathtaking view in a resort with 8 swimming pools and services of the highest level.
How not to mention the Casa al Sole in Sant’Angelo, a boutique hotel with 9 rooms and 3 suites named after famous Neapolitan women, each room has unique details and a different style for each accommodation, each room has a private terrace where you can relax , enjoy the view and eat breakfast that is served in the room (a unique plus), even in this case the view from the hotel terrace is entrancing where we find the bar that serves well-made cocktails and homemade pastries with seasonal products.
Not the least is the Cantine Crateca located in the center of Ischia at an altitude of 500 meters, needless to say that the view is amazing even admired from here!
Imagine combining the breathtaking panorama with an authentic passion for the land and you will get the Castagna family farm, which cultivates two hectares of land with vines, producing excellent and fragrant wines … smell … the most evanescent and evocative of senses…
Speaking of perfumes, the mind immediately brings my memories to the Garden & Villas Resort and its 3 hectares of garden, a jewel set in the greenery and nature of Ischia where well-being is the leitmotif of the philosophy of the structure, from the spa to the pool, from the catering fitness area, inspired by healthy food and genuine products. A true oasis of peace and olfactory experiences, nature, like a master perfumer of early 20th century Paris, skillfully mixes the fragrances of the sea, parks, vegetable gardens, ancient olive trees, aromatic plants with notes of spices and lemon … indescribable in words …
Smell that is satisfied by the aromas of Francesco d’Ambra’s kitchen of the trattoria Il Focolare that combines the typical island cuisine with modernity, Francesco is an Ischian chef of great international experience, son of the owner Riccardo, slow food contact and defender of the kitchen typical of the land of Ischia, which captivates and enchants our hearing with its voice and its stories, a histrionic character from which the immense love for Ischia and for tradition, a man of old times, tenacious and historical memory of the island.
Fascinating to touch the clay present in the tunnels of the Focolare cellars to experience a tactile experience rich in history.
The location of the Aragonese Castle is enchanting and evocative, a true fortification on a tidal bay connected to Ischia by a masonry bridge. History, art and culture intersect in the places and foreshortenings of the castle, an obligatory stop for your visits to Ischia.
This trip with BSO Group was also about the relaxation and fun, an example among many, the afternoon spent at the Poseidon Gardens Terme , which with its thermal baths of all kinds, the private beach, natural saunas and Japanese paths, offers moments of intense Welfare.
But Ischia is also synonymous with the sea … and what sea … the boat trip allowed us to discover with a complete tour of the island more details, coves, caves and anecdotes related to this wonderful place.
Sight, smell, hearing, touch … something is missing true? The taste !!! This is the common constant denominator of the whole trip, along with the fellow bloggers we ate, ate and still ate, talked about food and culinary ideas before, during and after each meal, the food and wine discovery of Ischia was exciting and complete, among the dishes impressed in the memory the “glamorous” Rabbit all’ischitana (legend tells that there are 33 different versions only in Ischia) eaten at the Focolare restaurant, proceded by a series of gargantuan appetizers and followed by desserts and … garlic and chilli oil midnight spaghetti … inevitable and delicious! And still Franco Pepe’s pizza (best Italian pizza maker in the series) of San Montano, Garden’s crazy water bass , fish dinner with cocktail party on the rocks of the Lo Scoglio restaurant, the delicious aperitif on the terrace of the Casa al Sole, the farmer’s lunch, rustic and sincere of the Cantine Crateca, the welcome lunch at the Apollon Club restaurant at the Miramare with twelve courses, one better than the other and a perfect Neapolitan pizza (my absolute favorite).
The circle closes right here, at the Miramare Sea Resort with the gala dinner to celebrate the birth of the new and exciting BSO Blog project. The Hotel’s terrace overlooking the sea welcomed us in style, with a menu obviously worthy of this great occasion, with its symbolic dish: an extraordinary spaghetti with garlic, oil, chilli and walnuts on red prawn and bottarga.
Plus of the trip was the wonderful collaboration with Frecciarossa (the journey to Naples could not be more comfortable than that), Alilauro (with their fast hydrofoils that connect the port of Naples with Ischia) and Imperatore travel, leader of travels in southern Italy with their trained and professional staff, their means of transport that have roamed us around the island, pampering us on our journeys, making it easier for us to move around.
A big thank you to BSO Group for the friendliness and the great professionalism with which it has organized an impeccable journey, cared for in every detail that has allowed me to discover a wonderful island, lighting all my senses in an explosion of sensations and emotions .
